General Information
May parents accompany their children?
No, only children and adolescents who are signed up.
Is it a gender specific camp?
It is a fully co-educational camp, with separate cabin lines for
boys and girls.
Are the rooms single or shared?
They are shared single sex dormitorios.
Will the parents be informed should
an emergency occur?
Yes immediately by cell phone or email.
Where will the meeting point be for the first
day (16th July)?

What are the transport arrangements from the
meeting point to the accommodation?

Where is the camp?
In the Valle de los Abedules Hostel, very near to the town of Bustarviejo.
This is 64kms to the north of Madrid and the congress site (about
1hour and 15 minutes far)
What will the weather be like?
The weather in Madrid in the summer is veryhot (Temp upt to 35ºC)
and dry with occasional showers. Since the camp is placed at 1200
m altitude the evenings may be cool.
What should I bring?

Will campers be able to access to Internet
and email?
No
Can cell phones be used during the
camp?
No. The staff will store and look after the phones until the last
day.
Can I take money?
During the camp money will not be needed. Money (around 50Euros)
may be left with the staff and used on outings and day trips.

What age should participants
be?
From 6 to 17
How many groups will there be?
There will be 2 main groups. One from 6 to 12 and another from 13
to 17, each with different activities.
How many may participate from each country?
There is no limit.
How many participants will there be?
We hope to have around 100.
Can the non-deaf participate?
Only deaf people and children of deaf adult may participate.
To participate, is it necessary to be fluent
in sign language?
All deaf girls and boys are welcome
What languages will be used at the camp?
The International Sign System, LSE,LSC and ASL, and Spanish and
English
Can 18 year olds and older participate?
Those aged more than 18 who are interested may collaborate as monitors
or counsellors, should there be free places available. They should
send in a curriculum vitae.

How many counsellors will there
be?
There will be 1 for every 6-8 participants.
How old are the staff?
They are aged between 18 and 40.
How are counselors selected?
Our counselors are qualified in outdoor activities
and have the skills and the backgroud to leader the camp program.
Activities
Will the campers participate
in the 15th World Congress of the WFD?
Yes in the opening and closing ceremonies
What type of activities are available?
There will be plenty of opportunity to have fun with different sports,
the swimming pool, hiking, theatre and conferences.
Health and Diets
Will special diets be provided?
Yes, celiacs,
vegetarian or other diets, as well as for Muslim children are available.
It must be noted in the inscription form.
How is our food?
Our food is nutritious, balanced and well prepared.

different countries?
No the enrollment is individual.

¿Los padres y madres

No. Sólo participan los niños y adolescentes inscritos.

¿Cómo se irá hasta al
albergue desde el punto de encuentro?
En autocar.
¿Dónde estaremos?
En el Albergue del Valle de los Abedules, muy cerca del pueblo Bustarviejo.
Está situado en el norte de Madrid, a 64 kilómetros
de la sede del congreso (una hora y cuarto de viaje).
¿Qué tiempo hará?
El verano en Madrid es muy seco y caluroso con algunos días
de tormentas aisladas. Como el albergue está situado a 1200
m de altitud las noches pueden ser algo frescas
¿Qué debo llevar?

¿Habrá acceso a internet
y al email para los participantes?
No
¿Puedo usar el teléfono móvil
durante el campamento?
No. El equipo directivo guardará y custodiará los
aparatos hasta el último día.
¿Puedo llevar dinero?
Durante el campamento no será necesario. Podrá dejarse
una cantidad de unos 50 euros al equipo directivo para las salidas.
¿Tendré nuevos/as amigos/as?
¡¡ Seguro que si !!

para participar?
De 6 a 17 años
¿Que grupos habrá?
Habrá dos grandes grupos. Uno de 6 a 12 años y otro
de 13 a 17 años con actividades diferentes.
¿Cuántos pueden participar
por país?
No hay límite.
¿Cuántos participantes
habrá?
Esperamos a un centenar de participantes
¿Pueden participar oyentes?
Sólo pueden participar chicos y chicas sordos o hipoacúsicos
o bien oyentes hijos de padres sordos.
Hay que saber lengua de signos para
inscribirse?
Todos los chicos y chicas sordas son bienvenidos.
¿Cuáles son las lenguas
del campamento?
El Sistema de Signos Internacional, la LSE, la LSC, el ASL, el castellano
y el inglés.
¿Pueden participar los que
tienen más de 18 años?
Los interesados pueden colaborar como monitores, en caso de que
haya plazas libres y deben enviar su currículo.

En función del número de inscritos pero habrá
1 por cada 6-8 participantes.

son personas jóvenes?
Si, desde los 18 años hasta los 40.

a los monitores y las monitoras?
Los monitores/as son especialistas
en educación en el tiempo libre, y tienenla formación
y experiencia necesarias que los acredita para llevar a cabo, de
forma positiva, las actividades que os proponemos.

en el XV Congreso Mundial de WFD de alguna manera?
Sí, en los actos de apertura y clausura
¿Cuáles
son las actividades más destacadas?
¡Serán muy divertidas!: habrá deporte, juegos,
piscina, excursiones, teatro y alguna confe-rencia.
Salud y dietas
¿Hay comida con
dietas especiale y para musulmanes?
Si, tanto para celíacos, vegetarianos, etc. Debéis
añadirlo en el apartado de observa-ciones de la ficha de inscripción.
¿Como es la comida?
La comida es nutritiva y equilibrada.
